Three Women's Lacrosse Players Earn Academic All-OAC Honors

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- Three Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse student-athletes were named to the 2017 Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference team. 

In order to be selected as Academic All-OAC a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and maintain varsity status.

Senior attack Jenna Turner (Carmel, Ind.), senior All-OAC midfielder Maddie Russell (Lakewood/Rocky River) and sophomore All-OAC attack Hannah Albrechta (Uniontwon/Green) each earned Academic All-OAC honors. 

Turner, who garners her third Academic All-OAC accolade, is a pre-physical therapy major that carries a 3.92 grade point average (GPA). She is also a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Sigma Alpha and Dayton C. Miller honor societies. This season, Turner started in 15 games, tallied career-highs in goals (14), assists (14) and points (28). 

Russell, who earns her third Academic All-OAC honor, is a chemistry major that carries a 3.97 GPA. She is also a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Dayton C. Miller and Chi Sigma Alpha honor societies. Russell is the first OAC player to be named a four-time All-OAC first-team selection and was named the OAC Defender of the Year as she tallied 38 goals and 14 assists for 52 points with 73 ground balls, 56 draw controls and 35 caused turnovers. 

Albrechta, who garners her first Academic All-OAC accolade, is a psychology major that carries a 3.79 GPA. She is also a Dean's List student. Albrechta was an All-OAC honorable mention as she appeared in 17 games, scored 27 goals and added 11 assists for 38 points.
