Women’s Lacrosse Records School’s First Shutout with Blanking of Wilmington

BEREA, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse team recorded the school's first shutout and won its second straight Ohio Athletic Conference game as it defeated Wilmington College by a final score of 18-0 on the Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium.

BW (7-2, 2-0 OAC) was led by Senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC midfielder Maddie Russell (Lakewood/Rocky River), junior All-OAC midfielder Kayla Miller (Hudson)  

and sophomore attack Hannah Albrechta (Uniontown/Green) all tallied three goals.   Miller added a career-best four assists for a game-high seven points.  Senior All-OAC midfielder Katie Kocher (Rocky River), sophomore midfielder Mackenzie Moran (Carlisle, Pa.) and freshman Jordan Paugh (South Lyon, Mich.) each contributed two goals.  The two goals for Paugh were the first of her career.

Wilmington (1-8, 0-2 OAC) attempted just two shots with one coming in each half.

In the first half, the Yellow Jackets scored 12 goals as it was led by Miller and Russell as each recorded a hat-trick.  Kocher added two goals while junior defender Erica Eyerman (North Olmsted/Magnificat) tallied her first goal of the season with 1:23 remaining in the opening half.

BW scored its six goals in the second as it was paced by Albrechta and freshman midfielder Jordan Paugh (South Lyon, Mich.) as each scored two goals.  Paugh tallied her first two collegiate goals with the last coming at the 3:19 mark.  Freshman defender Erika Davidson (East Aurora, N.Y.) closed out the scoring as she netted her first collegiate goal with 1:19 remaining in the contest.

BW senior netminder Amanda Getto (Medina) picked up her seventh win of the season as she faced two shots and allowed zero goals with one save.
