Baldwin Wallace University Women's Golf Team Finishes Seventh at the Yellow Jacket Invitational

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team shot a 405 to finish seventh out of nine teams competing on a windy afternoon at the Yellow Jacket Invitational at the Mallard Creek Golf Course in Columbia Station on Sunday (September 14, 2008).

Division II West Liberty State University put four players in the 80s en route to winning the team title while Amanda Smith of West Liberty earned medalist honors after shooting an 83 on the par-72 course.  

Senior Lydia Cole (East Canton) led the way for BW with a 96, which tied for 11th place overall in the 53-person field. Fellow senior Simone Short (Toledo/Whitmer) finished one stroke back with a 97, which earned her a tie for 13th place while freshman Ali Jones (West Muskingum) carded a 98, good for a tie for 15th. Sophomore Nicole Carlone (Canton/St. Thomas Aquinas) shot 114, to earn 41st place and freshman Caci Lewandowski (Sharon Center/Medina Highland) shot 121 to round out the Yellow Jacket scoring.

Competing as individuals, sophomore Sam Migalski (Manahawkin, N.J./Southern Regional) shot 109, junior Kellie Ross (Warrensville Heights) shot 114 and senior Lindsey Beichler (Orrville/Smithville) shot 117.

The Yellow Jackets will be back in action next Sunday (September 21, 2008) as they will play in the Ohio Northern Fall Invite at the Colonial Golfers Club in Harrod, Ohio.
