BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team concluded its fall schedule today (Sunday, October 12, 2008) in the second round of the Clash of the Clouse Tournament hosted by Wittenberg University at Windy Knoll Golf Club in Springfield. The women finished in 10th place of 11 teams.
On the first day of action, the Yellow Jackets shot a 393 and followed that up with a 372-stroke second round on the par-71 and 5,800-yard layout.
Individually, senior Lydia Cole (East Canton) led the way for the Yellow Jackets with an 89-stroke second round and finished with a total of 171 to lead the team, which pitted her in 27th place overall. She was followed by freshman Ali Jones (West Muskingum) who cut nine strokes from the first round and tallied 91. Sophomore Nicole Carlone (Canton/ St. Thomas Aquinas) followed up a first-round 98 with 96 strokes for a total of 194. Sophomore Sam Migalski (Monahawkin, N.J./ Southern Regional) shot 96 and totalled 194 strokes for two rounds, and senior Lindsey Beichler (Orrville/ Smithville) shot a 115 to give her 222 strokes over the 36 holes.
In individual play, freshman Caci Lewandowksi (Sharon Center/ Medina Highland) shot a 108 on the first day of action and followed that up by cutting 12 strokes for a second-round 96, and totalled 204 total strokes.
Cole, Carlone, and Migalski all recorded career-low rounds during the tournament. Jones, Beichler and Lewandski recorded season-lows.
For the six-tournament fall schedule, Cole led all golfers with 712 total strokes and an 89.00 strokes per round average. She also had the best round of the fall with 82 strokes, which also tied her career-low, in the first round of this weekend's tournament. Jones tallied 770 strokes for a 96.25 strokes per round average.
