Complete 2019-20 WBCA Division III All-America Team
ATLANTA, Ga. - Baldwin Wallace University senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC guard Riley Schill (Sheffield Village/Elyria Catholic) has been announced to the 2019-20 Women's Basketball Coaches Association's (WBCA) Division III Coaches' All America Team as an honorable mention.
Schill appears on the WBCA All-America team for the first time in her illustrious four-year career. She joins some exclusive company, becoming just the eighth All-American in program history and BW's first since Nikki Altenweg back in 2006.
This season, Schill led the Yellow Jackets with averages of 11.7 points, 3.0 assists, 2.0 steals, and 4.0 made field goals per game, as well as in both field goal percentage (50.7 percent) and free throw percentage (88.3 percent). Her free throw percentage was tops in the OAC, and ninth in all of NCAA Division III, while her steals and assists averages ranked her second and fourth amongst OAC players, respectively.
A pivotal leader of this season's group, Schill helped guide BW to an imposing 28-2 overall record and 17-1 record in conference play, both of which tyng program-records for wins in a season. Her stellar performance contributed to a 2019-20 OAC regular season and tournament title sweep, the Yellow Jackets' first since the 2007-08 season, as well as a season-high fifth-place D3Hoops.com final national ranking, their highest in 19 years. She also helped spearhead BW's 15th appearance in the NCAA Tournament, and its fifth ever run to the NCAA Tournament "Sweet 16".
For her career, Schill has appeared in 109 games for the Yellow Jackets, recording averages of 9.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. The three-time All-OAC and Academic All-OAC selection also caps off her impressive resume ranked tied for fifth in program history with 325 career assists, and eighth with 166 career steals.
A biology major, Schill boasts an impressive 3.98 grade point average and is a Dean's List student and Jacket Scholar, as well as a member of the BW Honors Program, Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society, and Alpha Lambda Delta honoraries.
BW advanced to the NCAA Tournament's "Sweet 16" and were set to take on the No. 1 nationally-ranked and undefeated Hope (Mich.) College in Holland, Michgan before the NCAA's abrupt announcement to cancel of all winter and spring sports, effective immdiately, in regards to combatting the spread of COVID-19.
