Smolik and Frisina Tabbed as Academic All-OAC

BEREA, OHIO – Two Baldwin Wallace University women's basketball student-athletes were named as Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference announced today by the league office.  Each honoree must be at least a sophomore and carry a 3.5 grade-point-average. 

Sophomore guard Audrey Smolik (Strongsville) and senior guard Megan Frisina (Corry, Pa./ Corry Area) represent the women's basketball team, which ended the season 16-9 overall and in fourth place in the OAC standings at 11-7.

Smolik, an education major with a 3.83 GPA, also was named All-OAC honorable mention after finishing the season second on the team with 9.0 points per game and third with 4.5 rebounds per game.  She was named the OAC Player-of-the-Week after registering her first double-double with career-highs of 24 points and 10 rebounds in a 79-67 win against Marietta College on February 9.  In just two seasons, Smolik has appeared in 51 games with 25 starts and averages 7.6 points per game and 3.3 rebounds per game with 37 assists and made 25 steals.

Frisina, a sport management major with a 3.79 GPA, appeared in 20 games for the Yellow Jackets and averaged 2.1 points and 1.5 rebounds per game.  She finished her career with 237 points and 88 boards while helping BW to a four-year record of 70-35 (.667).
