Jessica Carpenter Named OAC Player-of-the-Week

BEREA, OHIO --  Senior two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference women's basketball guard/ forward Jessica Carpenter (North Canton/Hoover) has been chosen as OAC Women's Basketball Player-of-the-Week.

Carpenter scored 27 points and grabbed six rebounds as the Yellow Jackets defeated non-league foe Carnegie Mellon (Pa.) University, 67-57, in Berea on January 2 and beat OAC-rival Marietta College, 66-38, in Marietta on Jan. 5. She made 9-of-13 field goal attempts for 69.3 percent efficiency, including 4-of-6 from three-point range for 66.7%, and she canned 5-of-7 foul shots for 71.4%. She also had two blocked shots and a steal. Carpenter earned second-team All-OAC honors as both a sophomore in 2010-2011 and 2011-2012.

The BW women are back in action on Wednesday, Jan. 9 when they travel to University Heights to play OAC and Cleveland cross-town rival John Carroll University in the Tony DeCarlo Varsity Center at 7:30 p.m.
