BW Men's Swim Team Lose to Wooster in Cleveland College Meet

OBERLIN, OHIO – The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving team lost today to The College of Wooster in the first round of the Second Annual Cleveland College Dual Meet Championships at Oberlin College.  The second round is tomorrow at Oberlin against Hiram College at 11:00 am.

The scoring for the meet was a combined team score instead of separate men's and women's scores. The Yellow Jackets lost to the Fighting Scots, 310-161.

The men were led by freshman Jacob Burk (Bowling Green) who won the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 10:23.18 and the 500-yard free in 5:02.62. In addition, sophomore Nathan Onchuck (Darien, Ill./ Hinsdale South) placed first in the 50-yard free in 23.19 seconds, sophomore Justin Allison (Napoleon) placed second in the 100-yard free in 51.98 seconds, and the 200-yard medley relay team of sophomore Nick Mossing (Napoleon), senior Bryan Hitch (Lakewood), Onchuck and Allison were second in 1:46.94.

Following tomorrow's second round at the Cleveland College meet, BW is off until Saturday, Nov. 9 when it competes in the third and final round. The next home meet is on Saturday, January 18 when the team hosts Ohio Northern in an Ohio Athletic Conference dual meet.
