B-W Football's Matt Dash and Brandon Fast Named ESPN THE MAGAZINE Academic All-District IV

BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin-Wallace College football seniors Matt Dash (Medina/ Buckeye) and Brandon Fast (Ashland/ Senior) have been named to the 2009 ESPN THE MAGAZINE Academic All-District IV team. Each were tabbed as second-team selections.
 
Dash, a criminal justice major with a 3.806 grade point average, has started all eight games at wide receiver for the Yellow Jackets this season and has 13 receptions for 178 yards. Dash is a Dean's List student, a member of B-W's Dayton C. Miller Honor Society, and a recipient of the 2008-09 Lee J. Tressel Award.
 
Fast, a business and finance double-major with a 3.577 grade average, has started all eight games at defensive end. He leads all linemen with 39 total tackles, is second on the team with eight tackles for loss and has three quarterback sacks and six hurries. Fast also is an All-Ohio Athletic Conference javelin thrower on the track & field team and is a member of the Dayton C. Miller Honor Society.

Dash and Fast are amongst 16 B-W football student-athletes that will honored on Seniors' Day this Saturday, November 7 prior to a 1:30 p.m. game versus Wilmington College at The George Finnie Stadium in Berea.
 
B-W has a rich tradition of excellence in the classroom and on the athletic areas with 78 student-athletes having been chosen as Academic All-Americans since the programs inception in 1972. The 78 total Academic All-Americans is the most of any OAC school and the second most of any small college or university in Ohio.
