Four BW Women's Soccer Student-Athletes Earn All-Ohio Honors

BEREA, OHIO -- Four Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer student-athletes have been named to the 2014 Ohio Soccer Coaches Association All-Ohio NCAA Division III team. 

Sophomore Ohio Athletic Conference Defender of the Year Kelly Gough (Hudson) was named to the second team while junior goalie Emily Tallmadge (Fairview, Pa.), junior defender Kadi Tucker (Mason) and freshman midfielder Courtney Schutz (Mentor) were third team choices.

Gough had an outstanding sophomore season and helped both on offense and defense.  She was a first-team All-OAC selection and a third-team National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Great Lakes Region selection. Offensively, Gough was second on the team with seven goals and 14 points. On defense, she helped BW to record eight shutouts and allow just 1.18 goals-per-game. Overall, Gough took 33 shots, including 20 on-goal, and had a team-high four game-winners.

Tallmadge also was named All-OAC for the second straight season.  She had an 11-9-3 record with eight shutouts in 23 matches and a little more than 2097 minutes of playing time. Tallmadge allowed 1.20 goals-per-game, had a .780 save percentage and 99 saves. She will enter her senior season with 21 career shutouts.

Tucker was a key member of the defense that had eight shutouts. She earned her third letter and played and started in all 23 contests. Tucker helped BW compile eight shutouts and allow 1.18 goals per game. As a sophomore, she was BW's Most Valuable Defensive Player when the team tied the single-season school-record for wins and finished 14-5-1 overall.

Schutz had a strong initial season of collegiate soccer and was an All-OAC selection. She scored five goals and led the OAC with a BW single-season record 11 assists for a team-leading 21 points Overall, Schutz was second in shots taken with 49 and shots on-goal with 27 and tied junior forward Alex Elliott (Blacklick/IMG Academy) for the second most game-winners with three apiece.

The Yellow Jacket women were 11-9-3 overall and advanced to the OAC Championship match.
