Today's Contest:
Today is the third road game and the second road Ohio Athletic Conference contest for the the Baldwin Wallace football team as it travels to New Concord for a clash with Muskingum University. Last week, BW defeated Wilmington College by a final score of 38-21. Muskingum was idle last week but fell to Heidelberg University by a final score of 36-13 on September 30.

The Series: 
BW and Muskingum are meeting for the 61st time on the gridiron. The Yellow Jackets an 45-13-2 all-time series lead, including winning 10 of the last 12.  Last season, the Fighting Muskies posted a 14-17 victory in Berea. In the last 12 meetings, BW has outscored Muskingum by a margin of 339-161.   The series began in 1917 when the Fighting Muskies defeated the Yellow Jackets, 25-7, in New Concord.  

BW Head Coach Jim Hilvert: 
Hilvert is in his first season at BW. He is 70-21 in nine overall and is 0-0 against Muskingum. 

Muskingum Head Coach Al Logan: 
Logan is in his 11th season at Muskingum and has a career record of 28-74 and an OAC record of 23-72.  He is 1-9 vs. Baldwin Wallace.

Last Meeting vs. Muskingum -- October 15, 2016:
BW scored 14 points on 166 yards passing and 155 yards rushing for 321 yards of total offense. Muskingum scored 14 points on 171 yards rushing and 71 yards rushing for 242 total yards.

Scouting the Yellow Jackets: 
In week five of the season, BW scored a 38 points on 278 passing yards and 239 rushing yards for 517 yards of total offense. Wilmington scored 21 points on 217 passing yards and 158 rushing yards for 375 yards of total offense.+

BW Leaders: 
Offensively, junior quarterback Jake Hudson (East Lake, Fla.) has completed 60 of 114 passes for 907 yards with 11 touchdowns and three interceptions. He also leads the ground attack with 266 yards on 63 carries with a long of 35 yards. Junior All-OAC running back Austin Smith (Broadview Heights/North Royalton) is second in rushing with 252 yards on 54 carries with two TDs.  Junior wide out Chad Steinwachs (Buffalo, N.Y./Willamsville North) tops the receiving with 16 grabs for 193 yards with five TDs.  Defensively, senior All-OAC linebacker Sam Groff (Waynesburg/Sandy Valley) tops the team with 39 tackles and one fumble recovery. Senior safety Trypp Washington (Eatonville, Fla./Orlando First Academy) is second with 34 stops but is tied for the team lead in pass breakups with four and interceptions with one.

Scouting the Fighting Muskies:
Muskingum was idle last week.  In their last meeting on September 30, the Fighting Muskies scored 13 points on 263 passing yards and 91 rushing yards for 354 total yards of offense. Heidelberg scored 36 points on 372 passing yards and 78 rushing yards for a 450 total yards of offense.

Muskingum Leaders: 
Offensively, freshman quarterback Brody Hahn has completed 85 of 158 passes for 1,044 yards with six touchdowns and seven interceptions. Sophomore running back Bernard Johnson leads the ground game with 423 yards on 78 carries with six touchdowns.  Senior wide out Damon Jones leads the receivers with 25 catches for 425 yards and four touchdowns.  Defensively,    senior linebacker Mick Fishel tops the team with 36 tackles. Junior defensive back Cle'Von Burch is second with 33 tackles and fumble return of 90 yards for a touchdown.
