Today's Contest: 
Today is Past Captains Day as the Baldwin Wallace football team hosts an Ohio Athletuic Conference against Capital University on the Tressel Field inside Finnie Stdaium. Last week, BW fell to Otterbein University in a high scroing night game by a final score of 37-29. Capital was defated by John Carroll University by a final score of 48-21.

The Series: 
BW and Capital are meeting for the 49th times on the gridiron.  The Yellow Jackets hold a 36-12  series lead, including winning four of the last six meetings.   The Crusaders won last year's meeting by a final score of 42-41 in overtime. The series began in 1928 when Capital defeated BW, 19-0, in Columbus. The Crusaders last victory in Berea was in 2011 when they posted a 14-11 win.

BW Head Coach Jim Hilvert: 
Hilvert is in his first season at BW. He is 71-22 in nine overall and is 1-0 against Capital. 


Capital Head Coach Chad Rogosheske: 
Rogosheske is in his second season at Capital.  He is 15-32 in five overall seasons and is 1-0 vs. Baldwin Wallace.

Last Meeting vs. CAP -- October 29, 2016:
BW scored 41 points on 290 yards rushing and 195 yards passing for 485 yards of total offense. Capital scored 42 points on 225 yards passing and 198 yards rushing for 423 total yards.  The Yellow Jackets scored the final points of the game on an 11-yard touchdown but the Crusader defense stood tall and stopped the two-point conversion for the overtime victory.


Scouting the Yellow Jackets: 
In week seven of the season, BW scored a 27 points on 325 passing yards and 98 rushing yards for 423 yards of total offense. Otterbein scored 37 points on 368  rushing yards and 185 passing yards for 553 yards of total offense.The Yellow Jackets scored two fourth quarter touchdowns and were driving to tie the game  when a fourth down and two pass play fell incomplete with 10 seconds remaining in the game.

BW Leaders: 
Offensively, junior quarterback Jake Hudson (East Lake, Fla.) has completed 96 of 171 passes for 1,469 yards with 14 touchdowns and five interceptions. He also leads the ground attack with 324 yards on 93 carries with one touchdown. Senior All-OAC running back Austin Smith (Broadview Heights/North Royalton) is second in rushing with 316 yards on 72 carries with two TDs.  Junior wide out Chad Steinwachs (Buffalo, N.Y./Willamsville North) tops the receiving with 27 grabs for 315 yards with five TDs.  Defensively, senior All-OAC linebacker Sam Groff (Waynesburg/Sandy Valley) tops the team with 63 tackles and one fumble recovery. Senior safety Trypp Washington (Eatonville, Fla./Orlando First Academy) is second with 52 stops but is tied for the team lead in pass breakups with five and tied for team lead interceptions with one.

Scouting the Crusaders:
In week of the seven season,Capital scored 21 points on 300 yards passing and 25 rushing yards for 325 total yards of offense. John Carroll scored 48 points on 322 yards rushing and 270 yards passing for 592 total yards of offense

Capital Leaders: 
Offensively, junior quarterback Thomas Wibbeler has completed 150 of 260 passes for 1,974 yards with 20 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Junior running back Nateshawn Hargrove leads the ground game with 219 yards on 43 carries with three touchdowns.  Junior wide out Dartavious Stanford leads the receivers with 45 catches for 719 yards with eight touchdowns.  Defensively,  junior linebacker leads the squad with 57 tackles.
