Vollmer Earns First Career OAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week Honor

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University freshman placekicker Brandon Vollmer (Pickerington/Central) has been selected as the Ohio Athletic Conference Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the first time in his career. 

Vollmer earned his first career accolade as he kicked three field goals, including the 23-yard game winner with 2:14 remaining in the BW's 23-20 victory against Muskingum University in New Concord last Saturday.  In addition to the game winner, he converted a career-long 40-yard field and a 22-yard field goal the first half as well as adding two extra points.

This season, Vollmer is a perfect 5-of-5 in field goals and has added 20-of-22 extra points.  He leads the Yellow Jackets in scoring with 35 points.  Vollmer has converted his five field goals in the last three games.

BW returns to action this Saturday, October 21 when it travels to Westerville for its lone night contest of the season as it faces Otterbein University in an OAC clash in Memorial Stadium at 7 p.m.

The Yellow Jackets return home to the friendly confines of the Tressel Field inside The George Finnie Stadium on Saturday, October 28 when they host an OAC game against Capital University on Past Captains Day at 1:30 p.m.
