Delgado, Lockridge Join Football Staff

BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University Head Football Coach Jim Hilvert has added David Delgado and Cody Lockridge to his coaching staff.

Delgado joins the staff as the tight ends coach after a successful collegiate career at Eastern Washington University where he helped the Eagles win three Big Sky championships. The 2016 graduate played four years of football for the Eagles, earning two varsity letters as an offensive guard after moving from defense to offense as a freshman. As a junior, he helped EWU score at least 50 points in six separate games while the team led the Football Championship Series (FCS) in scoring offense at 44.1 points-per-game. Overall, Delgado played in 26 games for the Eagles.

A native of Salt Lake City, Utah, Delgado was raised in a football family in the San Francisco, California, area. His father, Ken Delgado, is an assistant coach with the Cleveland Browns.

Lockridge returns to his alma mater as the strength & conditioning and assistant wide receivers coach for the 2017 season. A 2013 graduate of the University with a degree in sport management and a former Yellow Jacket tight end, Lockridge became a personal trainer after graduation. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and is also certified with USA Weightlifting. In addition to his coaching and strength and conditioning duties, he will help to recruit the greater Dayton area.

BW opens the 2017 campaign on Saturday, September 2 it travels to Defiance for its lone non-conference game against Defiance College at 1:30 p.m.  The Yellow Jackets open the home portion of their schedule when it hosts cross-town rival John Carroll University in the Ohio Athletic Conference opener for both squads on September 16 at 2 p.m.
