Women's Volleyball Falls to Otterbein on Seniors' Day

BEREA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University women's volleyball team lost an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup against Otterbein University by a score of 3-0 in this season's Seniors' Day match inside Ursprung Gymnasium at the Lou Higgins Center. 

The women's volleyball program recognized senior student-athletes Lauren Gardner, Nicole Logan, and Olivia Zawadzki on completing their outstanding volleyball careers at BW.

BW Leaders (11-11, 4-3 OAC)

  • Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference libero Lauren Gardner (Avon/Saint Joseph Academy) led the way with 16 digs and three assists 
  • Senior Academic All-OAC middle hitter Isa Luciano did it all with five total blocks, three kills, and five digs
  • Junior outside hitter Sam Rueda (Aurora, Ill./Metea Valley) led the team in kills with eight and also recorded 10 digs
  • Senior All-OAC setter Olivia Zawadzki (Hilliard/Darby) recorded 13 assists and five digs
  • Sophomore outside hitter Gabby Schlecht (Naperville, Ill./North) had 12 digs and two kills
  • Senior Academic All-OAC outside hitter Nicole Logan (Hilliard/Darby) recorded two kills in her final home game

Otterbein Leaders (18-7, 7-0 OAC)

  • Senior outside hitter Morgan Hartman led the Cardinals with 15 kills while junior outside hitter Kennedy Hoffman added 12 
  • Junior libero Amanda Troyer tallied 18 digs
  • Sophomore setter Olivia Vitaz totaled a game-high 24 assists

  • Cardinals led in kills 14-10
  • Yellow Jackets hit .023
  • Cardinals hit .182

Second Set (Otterbein 25-19)

  • Cardinals led in kills 16-7
  • Yellow Jackets hit .000
  • Cardinals hit .180

Third Set (Otterbein 25-20)

  • Each team had 12 kills
  • Yellow Jackets hit .152
  • Purple Raiders hit .286
