HIRAM, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's volleyball team went on the road to defeat non-conference foe Hiram College 3-0 inside Price Gymnasium.

BW (2-2) beat Hiram (1-4) by set scores of 25-19, 25-11, and 25-13.

SUMMARY

After a tight battle to begin the first set, the Yellow Jackets scored six straight points thanks to kills by freshman outside hitter Alexis Smith (Tiffin/Columbian) and senior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference middle hitter Isa Luciano (Willoughby/South) to go up 19-13. BW went on to win the set 25-19.

It was all BW in the second set after sophomore outside hitter Gabby Schlecht (Naperville, Ill./North), junior outside hitter Sam Rueda (Aurora, Ill./Metea Valley), and senior Academic All-OAC outside hitter Nicole Logan (Hilliard/Darby) recorded three kills each on their way to a 25-11 win to force the third set for a series sweep. Thanks to two service aces from sophomore defensive specialist Paige Contris (Pemberville/Eastwood) the Yellow Jackets took another commanding lead and never looked back as they went on to win the third set 25-13 and completed the three-set sweep of the Terriers.
