BEXLEY, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's volleyball team closed out the regular season portion of its schedule as it won a three-set Ohio Athletic Conference match over Capital University in Performance Arena inside the Capital Center.
BW (12-12, 5-4 OAC) will enter the OAC Tournament as the sixth seed and will travel to Alliance for an OAC Tournament quarterfinal match against third seed University of Mount Union on Tuesday, November 7 in Timken Gymnasium inside the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex at 7 p.m. Capital (6-19, 0-9 OAC) ends its season.
BW Leaders
- Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference libero Lauren Gardner (Avon/Saint Joseph Academy) had a game-high 21 digs
- Sophomore setter Katarina Blazetic (DeLand, Fla.) and senior All-OAC setter Olivia Zawadzki (Hilliard/Darby) assisted a combined 34 times
- Junior outside hitter Sam Rueda (Aurora, Ill./Metea Valley) and sophomore outside hitter Gabby Schlecht (Naperville, Ill./North) each recorded nine kills while senior Academic All-OAC middle hitter Isa Luciano (Willoughby/South) added eight kills
- Sophomore middle hitter Maleia Thurber (Temecula, Calif./Chaparral) had a career high eight blocks while also adding six kills

- Freshman setter Bryn Whitmer tallied 14 assists
- Sophomore libero Abby Brenner had a total of 17 digs
- Junior middle hitter Larissa Smith led the Comets with a total two blocks
