Women's Volleyball Garners Third Straight USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's volleyball team has been selected as a recipient of the United States Marine Corps (USMC)/American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award.

The award which is in its 28th year, honors teams from NCAA Division I, II and III; NAIA women; two-year colleges; the NCCAA; collegiate men; collegiate beach volleyball; and high school girls and boys programs that maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.

Under the guidance of second-year Head Coach Kacie Ehinger, BW was one of 1,275 teams to be recognized by the USMC/AVCA for the 2020-21 academic year.  The Yellow Jackets earned the accolade for the third straight season, thanks to a 3.616 team cumulative GPA.

BW concluded the 2021 spring campaign with an overall record with an overall record of 14-6 and a 13-5 mark in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Yellow Jackets advanced to the OAC Tournament semifinal for the third straight season.
