Women’s Volleyball Splits Doubleheader with OAC-Leader Muskingum

NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's volleyball team split and Ohio Athletic Conference header with OAC leader Muskingum University on Performance Court inside the Anne C. Steele.

BW (6-4,6-4 OAC) won the first match by scores of 28-26, 25-10, 21-25 and 25-19. Muskingum (9-1, 9-1 OAC) won the second match by scores of 23-25, 22-25, 25-17 and 27-25.

Match 1
Off a career-best tying match, the Yellow Jacket offense was led by junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC outside hitter Ivy Earl (Howell, Mich.) with 20 kills.  Senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC Alexis Garrett (Mentor) recorded 16 kills.  Junior Academic All-OAC outside hitter Cecelia Stebel (Union/Northmont) tallied 13 kills.   Senior All-OAC setter Kathleen Egan (Cleveland/Beaumont) set up the offense with 43 kills and anchored the defense with a career-high tying 20 digs. Senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC libero Sarah Reinhard (Willoughby/South) had 19 digs and junior defensive specialist Moran Martin (Seven Hills/Trinity) added 18 digs. 

Match 2
Earl led the attack for the second straight match as she tallied a match-best 17 kills. Garrett and Stebel followed with 12 and 11 kills respectively.  Egan ran the offense with a match-high 41 assists.  The back line was anchored by Reinhard with 19 kills.  Earl and Egan added 17 and 16 digs respectively.  Junior defensive specialist Isabella Moskowitz (Brighton, Mich.) added 13 digs.

BW is back in action on Tuesday, March 30 when it travels to University Heights for an OAC doubleheader against crosstown rival John Carroll University inside the Tony DeCarlo Center at 6 p.m.
