BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision at Ohio Athletic Conference and Cleveland cross-town rival John Carroll University tonight (Tuesday, October 6, 2009) in University Heights.
With the loss, the Yellow Jackets fall to 3-18 overall and 0-2 in the OAC. John Carroll improves to 9-12 overall and 1-1 in the OAC.
The Blue Streaks defeated the Jackets by scores of 25-11, 25-11, 25-17.
Junior Abbey Thompson (Lorain/ Clearview) and freshman Becky Palivoda (Burton/ Cornerstone Christian Academy) led the B-W offense with four kills each. Junior setter Casey Passen (Ashville/Teays Valley) led the Jackets with a team-high 12 assists.
Defensively, the Jackets were led by freshman Alex Gbur (Toledo/ Central Catholic) with 15 digs while freshman Rachel Switalski (North Royalton/ Parma Hts. Holy Name) and Passen each had six.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action this Friday, October 9 as they play host to Mount St. Joseph at 7:00 p.m. at Ursprung Gymnasium in Berea. B-W also hosts OAC-rival Capital University on Saturday, October 10.
