BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College volleyball team finished the season with a 3-0 win over Wilmington College today (Saturday, October 31, 2009) at Ursprung Gymnasium.
With the win, the Yellow Jackets finish the season at 5-24 overall and 2-7 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. Wilmington finishes at 1-18 and 0-9 in the OAC.
The Yellow Jackets defeated Wilmington by scores of 25-22, 25-11, 25-14.
Offensively, the Yellow Jackets were led by junior Abbey Thompson (Lorain/ Clearview) with 12 kills while sophomore Chelsea Nissen (Williston/ Genoa) and freshman Rachel Switalski (North Royalton/Parma Heights Holy Name) each totaled four kills.
Junior setter Casey Passen (Ashville/ Teays Valley) had 21 assists and freshman Alex Gbur (Toledo/ Central Catholic) led the team with three service aces.
Defensively, Gbur led the team with eight digs and Nissen had seven. Thompson had a team high six blocks and freshman Karianne Sifferlin (Wooster/ Senior) had three.
