Jackets Picked Eighth in Preseason OAC Coaches Poll

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College volleyball team was picked to finish eighth in the Ohio Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll released on Thursday, August 13.

A year ago, the Yellow Jackets finished at 13-21 overall and 2-7 in the OAC under Head Coach Vicki Brault, who enters her 15th year at the College and 19th overall with a 354-232 career record. B-W returns four starters and eight letterwinners this fall.

The Yellow Jackets received 27 total points in the coaches poll to place eighth. Defending OAC champion Ohio Northern University was the top choice with 80 total points and eight first-place votes. Mount Union College was second with 69 points and two first-place votes.

"The conference looks extremely tough again this season," said Brault. "We (B-W) have a young team and will have to be at our very best once league play starts in October. Our non-conference schedule is very competitive and should prepare us well for the challenge ahead."

B-W opens the season with two September 1 home matches at Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium in Berea. The Yellow Jackets will play Thiel (Pa.) College at 5:00 p.m. and Hiram College at 7:00 p.m. B-W's OAC opener is on October 3 at Mount Union College in Alliance at 1:00 p.m.
