Brennan Earns Fifth Career OAC Women's Indoor Track Weekly Accolade

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University senior All-American, All-Ohio Athletic Conference, and Academic All-OAC distance runner Kelly Brennan (Akron/Walsh Jesuit) has been named the OAC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for the second time this season and fifth time in her illustrious career.

Brennan earned her fifth weekly indoor accolade and sixth overall regardless of season, after a record-breaking performance in Friday's Rick Meindl Last Call Meet, hosted by Capital University. Already in possession of the indoor 800-meter event program record set at the 2019 NCAA Division III Championships, Brennan surpassed her own mark by a mere 0.16 second to establish a new all-time program-best time of 2:13.65. Brennan's impressive performance also earned her a convincing victory in the event, as she crossed the finish line approximately 21 seconds ahead of the next participant. She is now ranked fifth amongst 2020 NCAA Division III indoor national qualifiers for the 800-meter run.

For her indoor career, Brennan is an USTFCCCA All-American, three-time USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region, three-time All-OAC, and two-time Academic All-OAC performer. In addition to her new mark in the indoor 800-meter run, Brennan currently owns two other indoor program records in the 3,000-meter and 5,000-meter runs, respectively.

BW will return to the track on Friday, February 28 when it travels to Marietta to compete in the two-day All-OAC Championships, hosted by Marietta College in the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center.
