Four Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes Earn All-Great Lakes Region Honors

Complete list of the 2020 USTFCCCA NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field All-Region Athletes

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Four women's indoor track and field athletes have earned 2020 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Indoor All-Great Lakes honors for their performances this winter season.

BW's indoor honorees include senior All-American, All-Ohio Athletic Conference, and Academic All-OAC distance runner Kelly Brennan (Akron/Walsh Jesuit), senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC throwers Brooke Buckhannon (Collins/Western Reserve) and Jillian Roberts (Broadview Heights/Brecksville-Broadview Heights), and sophomore All-OAC distance runner Alyssa Laughner (Howard, Pa./Central Mountain). Brennan claims an All-Great Lakes Region distinction in four separate events, while BuckhannonRoberts, and Laughner receive the accoloade for one event apiece.

Brennan earns her eighth, ninth, 10th, and 11th career All-Great Lakes Region indoor honors, as a result of her terrific performances in the 800-meter, 3,000-meter, 1-mile, and 5,000-meter run events. The senior standout scored two indoor program records in the 800-meter and 3,000-meter events, with final times of 2:13.81 and 3:01.98, respectively. In addition, Brennan also scored season-best times of 5:01.41 in the 1-mile event and 17:29.20 in the 5,000-meter event. She captured two OAC individual titles along with three total All-OAC honors at the OAC Indoor Championships, while her record-breaking score in the 800-meter run also placed her 5th amongst all NCAA Division III national qualifiers.

Buckhannon earns her fourth career All-Great Lakes Region indoor honor, thanks to her stellar performance in the weight throw event. The senior posted a career-best weight throw distance of 57' 7.5" at the Raider Tune-Up, and also took home an OAC individual title and two total All-OAC honors at the OAC Indoor Championships. Her career-best performance in the weight throw placed her 13th amongst all NCAA Division III national qualifiers.

Roberts earns her first career All-Great Lakes Region indoor honor, courtesy of her grand performance in the shot put event. The senior landed a career-best shot put mark of 44' 7.5" at the Polar Bear Final Qualifier, and also garnered an All-OAC honor at the OAC Indoor Championships. Her career-best performance in the shot put placed her 19th amongst all NCAA Division III national qualifiers.

Laughner earns her first career All-Great Lakes Region indoor honor, in relation to her impressive performance in the 5,000-meter run event. The sophomore recorded a career-best 5,000-meter run time of 17:39.63 at the Tufts National Qualifying Meet, and also notched two OAC individual titles at the OAC Indoor Championships.

The Yellow Jackets' Brennan, Buckhannon, and Roberts will return to action on Friday, March 13, when the lone three BW national qualifiers compete at the NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships.
