AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University senior All-American and All-Ohio Athletic Conference distance runner Kelly Brennan (Akron/Walsh Jesuit) has been named the OAC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for the fourth time in her illustrious career.
Brennan earns her fourth accolade after she posted two top finishes at last weekend's unscored Hilldale (Mich.) College Wide Track Classic. She opened the two-day meet by winning the 5000-meter championship event in a time of 17:29.20. Brennan then closed out the meet by placing third in the 1-mile championship event in a time of 2:20.31.
Currently, she is ranked eighth in Division III in the 1-mile run with a time of 5:01.41, the 11th in in the 5000-meter with a time of 17:29.20 and 18th in the 3000-meter with a school-record time of 10:06.45.
For her career, Brennan is a seven-time United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) All-Great Lake Region performer, a three-time All-OAC performer and a two-time All-Ohio performer. She holds the school indoor-record in the 800-meter run, 3000-meter run and the 5000-meter run.
BW is back in action on Friday, February 14 when it hosts the annual Mid-February Meet on the Harrison Dillard Track inside the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse at 4 p.m. The Yellow Jackets then travel to Westerville on Saturday, February 15 to compete in the All-Ohio Championships hosted by Otterbein University in the Clements Recreation Center 12 p.m.
