12 Women's Track and Field Student-Athletes Appear on 2020 Academic All-OAC Team

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – 12 Baldwin Wallace University women's track and field student-athletes have appeared on the 2020 Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference team.

In order to be selected to the Academic All-OAC team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status and have at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA).

Senior distance runner Kelly Brennan (Akon/Walsh Jesuit), senior thrower Brooke Buckhannon (Collins/Western Reserve), sophomore distance runner Jenna Daulbaugh (Minerva), senior distance runner Katie Fowler (Mount Vernon), junior distance runner Madison Kile (North Canton/Hoover), sophomore distance runner Alyssa Laughner (Howard, Pa./Central Mountain), junior jumper Abby Lewicki (Medina/Highland), junior jumper Stephanie Magvas (Westlake/Magnificat), Claire Makowski (Bethel Park, Pa.), junior jumper Heather Orr (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian), senior thrower Jillian Roberts (Broadview Heights/Brecksville-Broadview Heights), and junior distance runner Megan Vaughn (Amherst/Firelands) are 12 of 45 Yellow Jacket student-athletes to be recognized this spring.

Brennan, who earns her fourth consecutive Academic All-OAC honor, is a masters of accounting graduate student carrying a 3.86 graduate GPA. She is a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar, member of the Alpha Lambda Delta and Chi Sigma Alpha Honor Societies, three-time USTFCCCA All-Academic selection, and 2018 CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 and Academic All-American selection. Athletically, Brennan is a four-time national qualifier, three-time NCAA Division III All-American, 14-time USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region selection, 13-time All-OAC performer, 6-time OAC champion, and two-time OAC Women's Distance Runner of the Year. She currently owns five indoor program records in the 500-meter dash, and 800, 1,000, 3,000, and 5,000-meter runs, as well as two outdoor program records in the 800 and 1-mile runs.

Buckhannon, who earns her third consecutive Academic All-OAC honor, is a public relations major carrying a 3.88 GPA. She is a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar, member of the Chi Alpha Sigma and Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Societies, member of the Public Relations Society of America, and two-time USTFCCCA All-Academic selection. Athletically, Buckhannon is a two-time national qualifier, six-time USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region selection, 10-time All-OAC performer, four-time OAC champion, and two-time OAC Women's Field Athlete of the Year. During her career, she has competed in the weight throw, hammer throw, shot put, and discus throw events.

Daulbaugh, who earns her first career Academic All-OAC honor, is pre-physical therapy major carrying a 3.71 GPA. She is a Dean's List student and Jacket Scholar. During her career, she has competed in the 1-mile, 3,000, 5,000, 10,000-meter runs, and 4x400-meter relay.

Fowler, who earns her third consecutive Academic All-OAC honor, is a Spanish and communications disorders double major carrying a 3.93 GPA. She is a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar, member of the Chi Alpha Sigma and Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Societies, and member of the BW Honors Program. Athletically, Fowler is a four-time All-OAC performer and two-time OAC champion. During her career, she has competed in the 200, 400, and 500 meter dashes, 1-mile, 800, 1,000, 1,500, and 5,000-meter runs, and distance medley, 4x400, and 4x800-meter relays.

Kile, who earns her second consecutive Academic All-OAC honor, is an engineering major carrying a 3.95 GPA. She is a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar, member of the Alpha Lambda Delta and Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Societies, and 2019 USTFCCCA All-Academic selection. Athletically, Kile is a two-time USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region selection, five-time All-OAC performer, and two-time OAC champion. During her career, she has competed in the 200, 400, and 500-meter dashes, 1-mile, 800, 1,000, 1,500, 3,000, and 5,000-meter runs, and distance medley, 4x400, and 4x800-meter relays.

Laughner, who earns her first career Academic All-OAC honor, is a neuroscience and biology double major carrying a 3.73 GPA. She is a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar, and 2019 USTFCCCA All-Academic selection. Athletically, Laughner is a 2019 national qualifier, 2020 USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region selection, three-time All-OAC performer, and two-time OAC champion. During her career, she has competed in the 1-mile, 800, 1,000, 1,500, 3,000, 5,000, and 10,000-meter runs, 2,000 and 3,000-meter steeplechase events, and 4x400-meter relay.

Lewicki, who earns her second consecutive Academic All-OAC honor, is an accounting major carrying a 3.86 GPA. She is a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar, and member of the Alpha Lambda Delta and Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Societies. During her career, she has competed in the pole vault and triple jump events.

Magvas, who earns her first career Academic All-OAC honor, is an early childhood education major carrying a 3.76 GPA. She is a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar, and member of the BW Student Ambassadors program. During her career, she has competed in the high jump and long jump events.

Makowski, who earns her second consecutive Academic All-OAC honor, is a music education major carrying a 3.87 GPA. She is a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar, and member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. During her career, she has competed in the 800, 1,500, 3,000, 5,000, and 10,000-meter runs.

Orr, who earns her first career Academic All-OAC honor, is a pre-physical therapy major carrying a 3.50 GPA. She is also a Dean's List student. During her career, she has competed in the high jump and long jump events.

Roberts, who earns her second career Academic All-OAC honor, is an exercise science major carrying a 3.60 GPA. She is a Dean's List student and 2018 USTFCCCA All-Academic selection. Athletically, she is a 2020 national qualifier, two-time USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region selection, and three-time All-OAC performer. During her career, she has competed in the weight throw, hammer throw, shot put, and discus throw events.

Vaughn, who earns her second consecutive Academic All-OAC honor, is a marketing and management double major carrying a 3.75 GPA. She is a Dean's List Student, Jacket Scholar, and member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. During her career, she has competed in the 1-mile, 800, 1,500, 3,000, 5,000, and 10,000-meter runs.
