Women’s Tennis Defeated by Cross-town Rival John Carroll

CLEVELAND – The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis was shutout in an Ohio Athletic Conference match against John Carroll University by a final score of 9-0 inside the dome at the Malaga Tennis Center on the campus of Cleveland State University.

BW (7-7, 1-2 OAC) trailed 3-0 after doubles play.   The number one tandem of senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC player Kelsey Blatt (Tallmadge) and freshman and freshman Imani Robinson (Cincinnati /School for Creative & Performing Arts) along with the second duo of senior Mackenzie Donalson (Hilliard/Davidson) and junior Claire Watts (Medina/Highland) each lost by scores of 8-2.

In singles action, John Carroll (7-3, 3-0 OAC) swept all six matches to secure the win.  Robinson had the hardest fought match at second singles as she fell by scores of 7-6 and 8-6 in the tie-breaker and 6-4
 

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, April 9 when the team hosts a pair of matches on the Pop Collins Tennis Courts.   BW first hosts a non-conference match against Wittenberg University at 9 a.m.  then hosts an OAC match against Marietta College at 3 p.m.
