Reed Wins Third Straight Title, Women’s Swimming and Diving Fourth After Day Two of OAC Championships

AKRON, Ohio – Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference stroker Tia Reed (Bluffton, S.C.) won her third straight OAC Championship in the 100-yard breaststroke as the Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving team and remains in fourth place after the second day of competition at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Wilmington College inside the Ocasek Natatorium on the campus of the University of Akron.

BW, who has had five All-OAC individuals and one All-OAC relay team during the first two days, is fourth of six teams with 307 points.  Defending champion John Carroll University is in first place with 595 points.

Individuals

  • Reed claimed her third straight title and earned her fifth career All-OAC accolade in a time of 1:07.46.
  • Junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC stroker Mallory Dondorfer (Mentor) earned her seventh career OAC accolade and second of the championships as she was the runner-up in the 400-yard individual medley in a career-best time of 4:40.31
  • Freshman diver Isabel Hershkovicz (Strongsville) earns her first career All-OAC honor as she was the runner-up in the 3-meter with a career-best 335.85 points
  • Freshman diver Ella Steen (Madison/Painesville Riverside) earns her first career All-OAC honor as she took third in the 3-meter with a career-best 317.30 points
  • Freshman stroker Melina Roberts (Westlake) placed sixth in the 100-yard butterfly in a career-best time of 1:01.63
  • Sophomore stroker Ariel Lisy (Strongsville) was 10th in the 100-yard backstroke in a career-best time of 1:03.27
  • Sophomore freestyler Rachel Fibbi (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) was 11th in the 200-yard freestyle in a career-best time of 2:04.69

Relays

  • The 200-yard medley squad of Dondorfer, Reed, Roberts and Fibbi finished fourth in a time of 1:52.09

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, February 17 when it competes on the final day of the OAC Championships. Preliminary action is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. with finals to be contested at 5:30 p.m.
