ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving team suffered its first loss of the season as it fell the University of Mount Union by a final score of 147-94 in the Hammond Natatorium inside the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex.
BW (6-1, 1-1 OAC) won six individual events. Mount Union (4-2, 1-1 OAC) won five individual events and both relays.
Individuals
- Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference stroker Tia Reed (Bluffton, S.C.) won the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:23.62 and the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:11.35
- Junior All-OAC stroker Mallory Dondorfer (Mentor) won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 25.95 and the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:01.94
- Freshman diver Isabel Hershkovicz (Strongsville) won the 3-meter dive with 145.20 points and was third in the 1-meter in the 140.55 points
- Freshman diver Ella Steen (Madison /Painesville Riverside) won the 1-meter dive with 173.90 and was third in the 3-meter dive with 129.50 points
- Sophomore stroker Morgan Ingalls (Erie, Pa./Harbor Creek) took second in the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 12:09.89 and was third in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:07.78
- Sophomore freestyler Rachel Fibbi (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) took third in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:10.55 and the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:41.90
Relays
- The 200-yard medley relay squad of junior stroker Athena Pantoja (Ashtabula/Lakeside), Reed, Dondorfer and senior Academic All-OAC freestyler Kate Wells (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) was second in a time of 1:58.77
- The 400-yard freestyle relay unit of senior stroker Lauren Slife (Westfield Center/Cloverleaf), Fibbi, freshman freestyler Lainey McDaniels (Cuyahoga Falls) and freshman stoker Ashley Slife (Westfield Center/Cloverleaf) took third in a time of 4:09.71
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 17,18 and 19 when they travel to Fredonia, New York to co-host the Blue Devil Invitational with Fredonia University in the Steele Hall Natatorium.
