Women’s Swimming and Diving Falls to John Carroll in Regular Season Finale

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving fell to crosstown rival John Carroll University in an Ohio Athletic Conference and regular season finale dual meet by a final score of 171-70 in the Johnson Natatorium inside the Tony DeCarlo Varsity Center.

BW (9-3, 3-2 OAC) had three individual winners.

Individual Results

  • Freshman diver Ella Steen (Madison/Painesville Riverside) won the 1-meter and 3-meter with 210.10 and 196.45 total points
  • Junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC stroker Mallory Dondorfer (Mentor) won the 400-yard individual medley in a time of 4:50.51 and was second in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:40.22
  • Senior All-OAC stroker Tia Reed (Bluffton, S.C.) was second in the 200-yard breaststroke in a time 2:25.56
  • Sophomore stroker Morgan Ingalls (Erie, Pa./Harbor Creek) was third in the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 12:08.65 and fourth in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:24.90
  • Sophomore stroker Melina Roberts (Westlake) finished third in the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:24.48
  • Senior Athena Pantoja (Ashtabula/Lakeside) took fourth in the 100-yard freestyle and 200-yard freestyle in times of 1:01.00 and 2:09.78
  • Sophomore freestyler Emily Kusar (Perry) was fourth in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 27.16

Relay Results

  • The 200-yard medley unit of Dondorfer, Reed, Roberts, and senior freestyler Lauren Slife (Westfield Center/Cloverleaf) took third in a time of 2:00.02
  • The 400-yard freestyle squad of Slife, Reed, Kusar and Pantoja finished third in a time of 4:02.82

BW is back in action on Wednesday, February 14 through Saturday, February 17 when it travels to Akron to compete in the OAC Championships hosted by Wilmington College in the Ocasek Natatorium on the campus of the University of Akron.
