Women’s Swimming and Diving Places Fourth at Blue Devil Invitational

FREDONIA, N.Y. – The Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving team finished in fourth place at the Blue Devil, Invitational co-hosted by BW and Fredonia University inside Steele Hall Natatorium

The Yellow Jackets were fourth of six teams with 1,341 points.   Brockport State (N.Y.) was the champion with 1,720 points 

Individuals

  • Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference stroker Tia Reed (Bluffton, S.C.) won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:08.94 and was second in the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:31.87
  • Junior All-OAC stroker Mallory Dondorfer (Mentor) was second in the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:12.40, second in the 400-yard individual medley in a time of 4:50.31 and third in the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:17.15
  • Sophomore freestyler Rachel Fibbi (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) was fourth in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:06.26 and third in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:37.05
  • Freshman diver Ella Steen (Madison /Painesville Riverside) was fourth in the 3-meter diving with 280.05 points and was sixth in the 1-meter diving with 306.35 points.
  • Freshman stoker Ashley Slife (Westfield Center/Cloverleaf) was sixth in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:05.24 and was seventh in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:23.48
  • Sophomore stroker Morgan Ingalls (Erie, Pa./Harbor) was fifth in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:20.22 and was fifth in the 1650-yard freestyle in a time of 20:00.70
  • Sophomore stroker Ariel Lisy (Strongsville) was eighth in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:08.37

Relays

  • The 200-yard freestyle team of Dondorfer, senior stroker Lauren Slife (Westfield Center/Cloverleaf), junior stroker Athena Pantoja (Ashtabula/Lakeside) and Reed took fifth in a time of 1:46.34
  • The 200-medley relay squad of Ashley Slife, Reed, Dondorfer and Pantoja finished fifth in a time of 1:57.82
  • The 400-yard medley relay unit of Ingalls, Reed, Dondorfer and Lauren Slife placed fourth in a time of 4:17.08
  • The 800-yard freestyle team of Fibbi, Lisy, senior Academic All-OAC freestyler Kate Wells (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) and Ingalls took sixth in a time of 8:42.84

BW is back in action on Saturday, December 2 when it hosts a non-conference dual meet against Bluffton University and an OAC dual meet against Heidelberg University in the BW Natatorium inside the Lou Higgins Center at 11 a.m.
