Women's Swimming and Diving Wins Home Opener Against Wilmington

BEREA,Ohio. - The Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving team won the 2021-22 home opener over Wilmington College in an Ohio Athletic Conference dual meet by a final score of 158-43 in the BW Natatorium inside the Lou Higgins Center.

Here are the highlights of the meet: 

  • Senior All-OAC Kayla McClintock (Venetia, Pa. / Peters Township) won the 1000-yard and 500-yard freestyle.
  • Freshmen Athena Pantoja (Ashtabula / Lakeside) won the 200-yard freestyle at her first collegiate meet.
  • Freshmen Mallory Dondorfer (Mentor) won the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke at her first collegiate meet.
  • Freshmen Jena Parks (Geneva / Madison) won 100-yard butterfly at her first collegiate meet.
  • Sophomore Tia Reed (Bluffton, S.C. / Bluffton) won the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard individual medley. 
  • Junior Julia Newbould (Strongsville) won the 100-yard freestyle. 

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Friday, October 22 when they host Hiram College and NCAA Division II Ursuline College inside the BW Natatorium at 6 p.m.
