Women's Swimming and Diving Earns a Pair of Victories on Day 2 of BW Fall Duals

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving team defeated both Hiram College and NCAA Division II Ursuline College on day two of the BW Fall Duals in the BW Natatorium inside the Lou Higgins Center.

BW (4-0) won all nine events, had seven runner-up finishers as it defeated Hiram by a final score of 136-31 and Ursuline by a score of 142-14.

The Yellow Jackets individual highlights included: 

Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer Kayla McClintock (Venetia, Pa. / Peters Township) won the 400-yard individual medley in a time of 5:17.81.

Sophomore Tia Reed (Bluffton, S.C.) won the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:35.92.

Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer Bella Ratino (Mentor/Hawken) won the 200-yard free style in a time of 2:07.57 and the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:30.71.

Freshmen Jena Parks (Geneva / Madison) won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:04.80.

Junior All-OAC performer Julia Newbould (Strongsville) won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 26.61 seconds.

Freshmen Mallory Dondorfer (Mentor) won the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2.14.62.

BW relays were highlighted by:

The 400-yard medley team of Dondorfer, Reed, freshmen Athena Pantoja (Ashtabula / Lakeside) and Newbould won in a time of 4:20.23.

The 400-yard freestyle unit of Ratino, McClintock, junior Natalie Kehoe (Parma / Padua Franciscan) and Parks took first in a time of 4:02.45. 

The Yellow Jackets return to the pool on Saturday, October 30 has it travels to Delaware for an non-conferene meet against Ohio Wesleyan University in the Meek Aquatics and Recreation Center.
