Women's Swimming and Diving Cage the Lions in Victory Over Penn State-Behrend

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving team won a non-conference match against Pennsylvania State University at Behrend in the BW Natatorium inside the Lou Higgins Center.

BW (7-0) won eight events, had five runner-up finishers as it defeated Penn State Behrend by a final score of 114-65.


The Yellow Jackets individual highlights included:

Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer Kayla McClintock (Venetia, Pa. / Peters Township) took third in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:44.78 and placed second in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:46.72.

Sophomore Tia Reed (Bluffton, S.C.) won the 400-yard individual medley in a time of 5:09.29 and the 200-yard breaststroke.

Junior Aubrey Syron (Dayton/Archbishop Alter) won the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:32.89.

Junior All-OAC performer Julia Newbould (Strongsville) won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 26.27 seconds and the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 57.12 seconds.

Freshmen Mallory Dondorfer (Mentor) won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2.02.91 and the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:13.49.


BW relays were highlighted by:

The 400-yard medley team of Dondorfer, Reed, freshmen Athena Pantoja (Ashtabula / Lakeside) and Newbould won in a time of 1:58.42.

The 200-yard freestyle unit of sophomore Lauren Slife (Westfield Center / Cloverleaf), McClintock, Newcamp and freshmen Jena Parks (Geneva / Madison) placed first in a time of 1:49.54.


The Yellow Jackets return to the pool on Saturday, November 13th has it travels to Alliance for a conference meet against Mount Union in the Hammond Natatorium.
