Women's Swimming and Diving Defeats Non-Conference Dual Meet

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving team win their non-conference dual meet against Bethany College and Hiram College in the BW Natatorium inside the Lou Higgins Center.

BW (9-1) won 10 of the 11 events, had 10 runner-up finishers as it defeated Bethany by a final score of 161-15 and beat Hiram by a final score of 153-46. 


The Yellow Jackets individual highlights included: 

  • Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer Kayla McClintock (Venetia, Pa. / Peters Township) won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:09.08.
  • Sophomore Lauren Slife (Westfield Center/Cloverleaf) won the 500-yard freestyle ina time of 6:01.73
  • Sophomore Tia Reed (Bluffton, S.C.) won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:12.16.
  • Junior All-OAC performer Julia Newbould (Strongsville) won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:11.38.
  • Freshman Mallory Dondorfer (Mentor) won the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2.18.64.
  • Freshman Brooklyn Duguay (Aurora) placed second in the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 12:45.45. 
  • Junior Aubrey Syron (Dayton/Archbishop Alter) won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 27.16 seconds and won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:02.40.

BW relays were highlighted by:

  • The 200-yard freestyle team of Dondorfer, Slife, sophomore Jami Melzer (Bradenton, Fla. / Lakewood Ranch) and Newbould won in a time of 1:50.27.
  • The 400-yard Medley Relay unit of McClintock, Reed, Syron, and freshman Jena Parks (Geneva/Madison) took first in a time of 4:29.00. 


The Yellow Jackets will travel to Sarasota, Florida on their annual winter break trip as they face Randolph-Macon (Va.) at the Arlington Park Aquatic Complex.
