AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer Bella Ratino (Mentor/Hawken) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week for the first time in her career.

Ratino earns her first weekly accolade after setting a school-record, winning one event and placing fifth in another to help lead BW to a fourth place finish at the Oberlin College Invitational last weekend.

She won the 400-yard individual medley in a school-record time of 4:44.00 on the final day.  Ratino also placed fifth in the 500-yard freestyle in a season-best time of 5:21.51.

In relay action, she was the first leg of both the 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard medley relay teams that finished third in season-best times of 1:54.42 and 4:12.01, respectively.   Ratino was the final leg of the sixth place 800-yard freestyle  in a season-best time of 8:12.63.

In just her second season, Ratino already holds four school-records and is a three-time All-OAC performer.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Wednesday, December 18 when they take on Randolph-Macon (Va.) College in a non-conference dual meet during its annual winter break straining trip at the Arlington Park Aquatic Center in Sarasota, Florida.
