Ginnetti Garners First Career OAC Wrestler of the Week Accolade

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University sophomore wrestler Dante Ginnetti (Poland/Seminary) has been selected as the Ohio Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week for the first time in his career.

Ginnetti pinned two of his three opponents in five at the 133-pound weight class in five minutes to led the eighth-nationally ranked Yellow Jackets to a 2-1 record at last Saturday's Gator "Boots" Duals hosted by Luther (Iowa) College in Nashville, Tennessee.

Ginnetti opened the duals as he picked up the pinfall victory against his Manchester (Ind.) University opponent in 1:34. He then earned a 12-6 decision against his opponent from the fourth-nationally ranked Loras (Iowa) College.  Ginnetti closed out the duals with a pinfall victory against his Millikin (Ill.) University in 4:34.

This season, Ginnetti has posted a team-best record of 16-1 with a team-high nine pins.   He won the individual title at the Trine (Ind.) Invitational at 133-pounds on November 11.

For his career, Ginnetti has compiled a career-record of 40-14 with 21 pins.

BW is back in action on Thursday and Friday, January 4-5, 2018 when it travels to Fort Wayne, Indiana to compete in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) National Duals in the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.  Action is slated to begin at 8 a.m. on both days.
