Sierra Thomas is OAC Player of Week for Second Time This Spring

BEREA, Ohio -- Baldwin Wallace University freshman midfielder Sierra Thomas (Medina) is this week's Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week.  This is the second time this spring and in Thomas' young career that she has earned the weekly honor.

She earned the honor for her efforts in scoring 13 goals, including a school-record six versus NCAA Division II Ursuline.  Thomas led the Yellow Jackets to a 3-0 record, including two against NCAA Division II teams as BW defeated Walsh University, 14-13, Saint Vincent (Pa.) College, 14-13, and Ursuline College, 21-9.

In addition to her 13 goals, Thomas had five assists for 18 points, took 20 total shots, had 12 ground balls and 15 draw controls .

After seven games for the 5-2 overall Yellow Jackets, she has a team-leading 25 goals, 30 points, 36 shots, 33 ground balls, 27 draw control and forced 16 turnovers.

BW plays a pair of home games this week as it hosts Franciscan University on Wednesday, March 26 and then Hilbert (N.Y.) College on Friday, March 28. Both games are at 7:30 p.m. on Tressel Field in The George Finnie Stadium.
