Sierra Thomas Scored School-Record Five Goals
BEREA, Ohio – Freshman midfielder Sierra Thomas (Medina) scored a school-record five goals to lead the Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse team to a 19-1 victory against NAIA Lourdes University on the Tressel Field at the George Finnie Stadium.
 
In addition to Thomas for the Yellow Jackets (1-0), freshmen midfielder Maddie Russell (Lakewood /Rocky River), midfielder Katie Kocher (Rocky River) and junior midfielder Cara Wood (Shaker Heights /Laurel) each scored three goals. Freshman midfielder Kelsey Johnson (Carmel, Ind. /Park Tudor) tallied a school-record three assists.
 
Lourdes (0-1) got its lone goal freshman attacker Faith Fisher.
 
BW outshot Lourdes, 31-12, and held a 57-45 advantage in ground balls. The Yellow Jackets led 12-0 after the first half and held a 19-0 advantage until the Gray Wolves scored their lone goal with just 46 seconds left in the game. 
 
The Yellow Jackets next host NCAA Division II Ursuline College on Wednesday, March 5 in George Finnie Stadium at 7:30 p.m.
