BEREA, Ohio – Junior attack Victoria Budzyn (East Aurora, N.Y.) scored a career-high four goals as the The Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse team upset Ohio Athletic Conference leader the University of Mount Union by a final score 11-10, in a come from behind victory on Tressel Field at The George Finnie Stadium.  

BW (12-3, 2-1 OAC) ended its season at home undefeated with a record of 9-0. Mount Union (12-2, 2-1 OAC) lost its first game since the first game of the season and ended its winning streak at 12.

In addition to Budzyn for the Yellow Jackets, senior attack Colleen Bodkin (East Aurora, N.Y.) and freshman midfielder Sierra Thomas (Medina) each tallied two goals while Bodkin scored the game winner. Four other BW players tallied a goal each. The Purple Raiders were led by Katherine Doraty had a game-high five goals.

Mount Union scored three goals in the first minute and a half of the opening period before freshman midfielder Maddie Russell (Lakewood/Rocky River) scored the Yellow Jacket free position goal with 26:20 remaining.

After another Purple Raider goal, BW responded with two unanswered goals to cut the lead down to 4-3 with the last coming at the 14:13 mark.  Budzyn and freshman midfielder Katie Kocher (Rocky River) each had the marker.

Mount Union would push the lead to 6-3 before the Yellow Jackets answered with two goals before the end of the half to cut the lead down to 6-5 on the goals from junior attack Cara Wood (Shaker Heights/Laurel) and Budzyn with the last coming with 33 seconds left.
The Purple Raiders extended their lead to 8-5 in the early stages of the second half. BW answered back with three unanswered goals to tie the game at 8-8 when Budzyn netted her fourth goal of the game off the assist from Kocherat the 15:09 mark.

Mount Union responded with two goals to regain the lead at 10-8 on the free position goal by Doraty with 11:32 remaining. The Yellow Jackets would again tie the game at 10-10 on the second goal of the game by Thomas at the 3:07 mark. BW scored the game-winning goal with two seconds left as Bodkin scored her second goal of the game off the assist from freshman Kelsey Johnson (Carmel, Ind. /Park Tudor).

In goal for BW, senior Bridget Walsh (Elyria/Elyria Catholic) played 2:31 minutes and allowed three goals and made no saves. Freshman Gabrielle Nondorf (Indianapolis, Ind. /Bishop Chatard) played the final 57:29 minutes and allowed seven goals and made four saves for her first collegiate win. Nondorfis now 1-0 on the season.

The Yellow Jackets end the regular season this Saturday when they travel to Bexley for an OAC game against at Capital University at 4 p.m.
