Men’s Swimming and Diving Beats NCAA Division II Malone

CANTON, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving team defeated NCAA Division II Malone University in a non-conference dual meet by a final score of 155-50 inside the C.T. Branin Natatorium.

BW (4-0) is now 2-0 against NCAA Division II opponents.  Malone (1-1) drops its first meet of the season.

Individuals

  • Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference stroker Tommie McQueary (Batavia/Bethel Park) won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 52.49 and the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:02.83
  • Junior stroker Austin Kingsley (Northport, N.Y.) won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 49.59 and the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:50.54
  • Senior All-OAC stroker Mason Kooyman (Concord Township/Chardon) won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 22.02 and was second in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:26.44
  • Junior stroker Gavin Skwirut (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe) won the 1650 yard freestyle in a time of 18:43.89
  • Sophomore stroker Nolan Szuch (Springboro) won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 57.88
  • Freshman Branyan Rowland (Bucyrus/Colonel Crawford) won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:08.66
  • Junior stroker Jason Tafoya (El Paso, Texas) was second in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 58.05 and the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:08.21
  • Junior freestyler Will Bolin (Mansfield/Ontario) was second in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 23.29
  • Junior stroker Jack Kielmeyer (Westerville/South) was second in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:09.60

Relays

  • The 200-medley relay squad of Kingsley, Tafoya, McQueary and Kooyman won in a time of 1:39.66
  • The 200-yard freestyle team of Bolin, senior stroker Grant Doolittle (Tekonsha, Mich./Marshall), Kielmeyer and Rowland won in a time of 1:36.39

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, November 4 when they travel to Delaware for a non-conference tri-meet against Heidelberg University and Ohio Wesleyan University inside the Meek Center at 1 p.m.
