FREDONIA, N.Y. – The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving team finished in third place at the Blue Devil, Invitational co-hosted by BW and Fredonia University inside Steele Hall Natatorium

The Yellow Jackets were third of six teams with 1,392.5 points.   Penn State Behrend College was the champion with 1969 points 

Individuals

• Senior Academic All-Ohio Conference freestyler Mason Kooyman (Concord Township/Chardon) won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 47.87 was second in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 21.72 and second in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 54.20
• Junior freestyler Gannon Mellett (Pittsburgh, Pa./Moon Area) won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:48.59, was fourth in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 49.52 and fourth in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:04.28
• Junior All-OAC diver Jason Heisler (Saline, Mich.) was second in the 1-meter diving with 422.90 points and second in the 3-meter diving with 439.55 points
• Junior stroker Jason Tafoya (El Paso, Texas) was fifth in the 400-yard individual medley in a time of 4:35.98, sixth in the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:24.36 and seventh in the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:08.32,
• Sophomore stroker Nolan Szuch (Springboro) was fourth in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:00.34 and was fifth in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 55.04
• Junior Gavin Skwirut (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe) was sixth in the 1650-yard freestyle in a time of 18:09.94
• Freshman stroker Owen Rogonjic (Mentor) was sixth in the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:13.35
• Freshman stroker Branyan Rowland (Bucyrus/Colonel Crawford) was seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:05.20 and seventh in the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:25.66
• Sophomore freestyler Kevin Meyer (Mentor) was eighth in the 1650-yard freestyle in a time of 18:24.60 

Relays

• The 200-yard freestyle team of Mellett, junior stroker Luke Minick (Stow/Archbishop Hoban), junior stroker Jack Kielmeyer (Westerville/South) and Kooyman finished third in a time of 1:29.88
• The 200-yard medley relay squad of Szuch, Rowland, Kooyman and Minick took fourth in a time of 1:40.74
• The 400-yard medley unit of Szuch, Tafoya, Minick and Kooyman placed fourth in a time of 3:43.36
• The 800-yard freestyle relay team of Mellett, Tafoya, junior freestyler Erik Tagg (Pittsburgh, Pa./Chartiers Valley) and sophomore freestyler Kevin Meyer (Mentor) finished third in a time of 7:37.08

BW is back in action on Saturday, December 2 when it hosts a non-conference dual meet against Bluffton University and an OAC dual meet against Heidelberg University in the BW Natatorium inside the Lou Higgins Center at 11 a.m.
