Men's Swimming and Diving Drops Non-Conference Match to Wooster

WOOSTER, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving team drops a non-conference match against Wooster College in the Timken Natatorium.

BW (7-1) won four events, had six runner-up finishers as it falls to Wooster by a final score of 141-86.

The Yellow Jackets individual highlights included:

  • Junior Austin Olsavsky (Medina) won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:50.17.
  • Freshman Tyson Swihart (Sarasota, Fla. / Sarasota Military Academy) won the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:04.71.
  • Freshmen Jason Tafoya (El Paso, Texas / El Paso) placed second in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:21.90.
  • Freshman Austin Kingsley (Northport, N.Y.) won the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 10:17.46 and placed third in the 100-yard freestyle.
  • Freshman Tommie McQueary (Batavia/Bethel Tate) placed second in the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:06.82 and placed second in the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:06.22.
  • Sophomore Mason Kooyman (Concord Township / Chardon) placed third in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 22.74 seconds.

BW relays were highlighted by:

  • The 400-yard medley relay of Tafoya, McQueary, freshmen Luke Minick (Stow / Archbishop Hoban) and Kooyman placed second in a time of 3:46.91.
  • The 400-yard freestyle squad of Olsavsky, freshmen Luke Minick (Stow / Archbishop Hoban), freshmen Gavin Skwirut (Latrobe, Pa. / Greater Latrobe) and Kingsley placed second in a time of 3:23.24.

The Yellow Jackets return to the pool on Saturday, January 22nd as it travels to University Heights for a conference meet against John Carroll University in the Johnson Natatorium.
