Men's Swimming and Diving Compete in Unscored Match Up on Annual Winter Break Training Trip

SARASOTA, FLA. – The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving team had a non-scoring match up against Randolph-Macon College in Sarasota, Florida inside the Arlington Park Aquatic Complex during its annual winter break training trip.

BW (7-1) won 7 of the 7 events.  

The Yellow Jackets individual highlights included:

  • Freshman Tommie McQueary (Batavia/Bethel Tate) won the 50-yard butterfly in a time of 24.60 seconds and 100-yard individual medley in a time of 56.61 seconds.
  • Junior Austin Olsavsky (Medina) won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:49.43
  • Sophomore Mason Kooyman (Concord Township / Chardon) won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 22.63 seconds.
  • Junior Alec McNeill (Avon Lake) won the 50-yard breaststroke in a time of 29.71 seconds.
  • Freshman Austin Kingsley (Northport, N.Y.) won the 50-yard backstroke in a time of 26.75 seconds.

BW relays were highlighted by:

  • The 200-yard medley relay of freshman Aidan Hick (Oneida), McNeill, Kingsley, and Olsavsky won in a time of 1:44.50.
  • The 200-yard freestyle squad of Kooyman, Olsavsky, Kingsley, and freshman Will Bolin (Mansfield / Ontario) won in a time of 1:34.59.


The Yellow Jackets return to action on Friday, January 14 when they host Wooster College in the BW Natatorium inside the Lou Higgins Center at 6 p.m.
