Men's Swimming and Diving Wins Against Wilmington in Home Opener

BEREA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving team won the 2021-22 home opener over Wilmington College in an Ohio Athletic Conference dual meet by a final score of 160-44 in the BW Natatorium inside the Lou Higgins Center.

Here are the highlights of the meet: 

  • Freshmen Martin Koenen (Chardon) won the 1000-yard and 500-yard freestyle at his first collegiate meet.
  • Junior All-OAC Austin Olsavsky (Medina) won the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle. 
  • Freshmen Jason Tafoya (El Paso, Texas / El Paso) won the 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard individual medley
  • Sophomore Mason Kooyman (Concord Township / Chardon) won the 50-yard freestyle.
  • Freshmen Tommie McQueary (Batavia / Bethel Tate ) won the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard breaststroke at his first collegiate meet.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Friday, October 22 when they host Hiram College and NCAA Division II Ursuline College inside the BW Natatorium at 6 p.m.
