Alliance, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving team lost conference matchup against Mount Union University in the Hammond Natatorium inside the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex
BW (5-1) won two events, had six runner-up finishers as it fell to Mount Union by a final score of 144- 97.
The Yellow Jackets individual highlights included:
- Freshman diver Jason Heisler (Saline, Mich.) claimed the victory from the 1-meter board, finishing with a 216.45 final score.
- Junior Austin Olsavsky (Medina) placed second in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:47.44 and took third in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 50.18.
- Freshman Jason Tafoya (El Paso, Texas / El Paso) placed fourth in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 57.84.
- Freshman Austin Kingsley (Northport, N.Y.) placed second in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 4:57.81.
- Freshman Tommie McQueary (Batavia/Bethel Tate) won the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:03.29 and 100-yard butterfly in a time of 56.63.
- Sophomore Mason Kooyman (Concord Township / Chardon) finished second in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 22.49.
- Freshman Gannon Mellett (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Moon Area) placed third in the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 10:41.59.
BW relays were highlighted by:
- The 200-yard medley relay of Tafoya, freshmen Davis Pickett (Akron/Firestone) , freshmen Luke Minick (Stow / Archbishop Hoban) and Kooyman placed second in a time of 1:41.74.
- The 400-yard freestyle squad of Kooyman, Kingsley, freshmen Gannon Mellett (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Moon Area) and Olsavsky placed second in a time of 1:31.94.
The Yellow Jackets return to the pool on Saturday, November 13th - 20th as it travels to Oberlin for a three day non-conference meet against Oberlin College in the Carr Pool.
