Tijerina Selected to Academic All-OAC Team

One Baldwin-Wallace College diver has been selected on this year's Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference team.

Junior men's swimmer Tony Tijerina (Defiance/ Napoleon) has been selected for the second straight year. 
Student-athletes are nominated and selected by the Faculty Athletics Representatives of each school.  To qualify, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum 3.25 grade point average, be a starter or key reserve who has appeared in more than half of his/ her teams games/ events.

Tijerina, who carries a 3.66 grade point average in psychology, is a 3-time All-OAC diver, a member of the school-record 200-yard freestyle relay team and serves as a team captain. This season, he placed third in the 1-meter dive at the OAC Championships and posted career-bests in the 50-yard free and both 50 and 100-yard butterfly events. He also earned All-OAC accolades in both the one and three-meter dives as a freshman and helped to set the school record as a sophomore. In the classroom, Tijerina is a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and member of the Alpha Lambda, Psi Chi and Chi Sigma Alpha honor societies. He also is a Resident Assistant, Course Assistant and Treasurer of the Rotraract Club
