Swimming and Diving Teams Fall In OAC Dual Meet To Mount Union

ALLIANCE, OHIO --
The Baldwin-Wallace College men's swimming and diving teams dropped an Ohio Athletic Conference dual meet to the University of Mount Union, today, (Saturday, November 19, 2011) in the Hammond Natatorium inside the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex.

The Purple Raider men defeated the Yellow Jacket men, 129-99.

With the loss, the Yellow Jacket men are now 3-3 overall and 2-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference.

The Yellow Jacket men were led by Sixto Torres (Lorain) as he won the 1-meter voluntary event with 157.15 points and then went on to win as member of the 200-yard freestyle relay team along with juniors Nathan Brown (Columbia Station /Olmsted Falls) and David Blackett (Tallmadge) and freshman Ronny Woodburn (Ashtabula/Edgewood) won in a time of 1:44:01.

B-W also go victories from sophomore Patrick Donohoe (Columbus/ Bishop Watterson) and junior Tony Tijerina (Defiance/Napoleon).  Donohoe won the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:04.06 and Tijerina won the 1-meter optional event with 235.15 points.

The Yellow Jackets will next travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan to compete in the Calvin College Winter Invitational on December 1-3. The next home meet is on Friday, Jan. 13 when B-W hosts Ohio Wesleyan University in the B-W Natatorium at 4:00 p.m.
