BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin-Wallace College has named Laura Wolff as its head men's and women's swimming and diving coach after serving this season as its interim head coach.

"We are pleased to have Laura continue as our head coach in a full-time capacity," said Director of Athletics Kris A. Diaz.  "She was asked to do a lot with little time. Everyone in the Athletic Department feels she has done an excellent job. She has developed a bright future for both programs."

This season, Wolff guided the men's team to a 3-8 overall and 2-3 OAC record and the women posted a 4-7 overall and 2-3 OAC record.  She will return almost her entire team in 2012-13, and with the addition of a pair of strong recruiting classes, the future of Yellow Jacket swimming & diving is bright and exciting.

"I am excited and pleased to be the head coach at Baldwin-Wallace," commented Wolff.  "This is the place I want to be and I want to grow both programs into Ohio Athletic Conference champions and NCAA Division III national contenders for many years to come.

"This was a tough season for not only me but the student-athletes," continued Wolff.   "It is not easy to have a new coach come in four weeks before your first meet.  I am proud of all of my student-athletes, especially this year's team captains, and want to thank them all for their hard work and dedication."

Prior to this season, Wolff was the coach of the Lake Shore Swim Club in Rocky River. She took over that position in August of 2009. Previously, she was a volunteer assistant men's swim coach at The Ohio State University during the 2008-2009 season. She also served as the head men's and women's swimming and diving coach at Canisius (N.Y.) University.  While at Canisius, her team's set 41 school records and had its best finish in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.

Wolff is a 1999 graduate of Magnificat High School in Rocky River, a 2003 graduate of St. Bonaventure (N.Y.) University and is currently working on her master's degree in early childhood education at Canisius..

The Yellow Jackets return to action at the Ohio Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships hosted by Ohio Northern University at University of Akron Ocasek Natatorium on Thursday, February 16 through Saturday, Feb. 18.  The preliminaries begin each day at 11:00 a.m. and the finals for those events begin at 6:00 p.m.  For ticket prices and championship information, please visit http://ohionorthern.prestosports.com/sports/wswimdive/2011-12/oacs.
