Swimming & Diving Teams Fall to John Carroll University

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, OHIO –
The Baldwin-Wallace College men's swimming and diving teams fell to host John Carroll University today (Saturday, January 28, 2012) at the William H. Johnson Natatorium.

The B-W men were defeated by a score of 124-104. With the loss, the B-W men are now 3-8 overall and 2-3 in the OAC.

The Yellow Jacket men were led by sophomore Patrick Donohoe (Columbus/Bishop Watterson) who took first place in three events including the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:21.08, the 400-yards individual medley with a time of 4:24.35, and the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:01.25. 

In addition to Donohoe, sophomore Ryan Stover (Napoleon) took first place in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:07.80.  Also for the men, junior Tony Tijerina (Defiance/Napoleon) took first place in the 1-meter dive with a score of 261.30.  The mens 200-yard medley relay team consisting of Stover, Tijerina, senior Nic Null (Shelby/Mansfield St. Peter's), and junior Matthew Zych (Des Plaines, Ill./Maine West) placed first in a time of 1:44.18.

The Yellow Jackets return to action on February 16-18, 2012 in the 2012 Ohio Athletic Conference Championship at University of Akron at the Oliver J. Ocasek Natatorium.
